BAKU: Azerbaijan is set to launch an ambitious “smart village” initiative in Bash Garvend, one of Aghdam’s largest villages, aiming to transform the area using sophisticated technologies and sustainable practices, as announced during the Caspian Construction Week.

According to Trend News Agency, Sabuhi Abdullayev, the deputy executive director of the Rehabilitation, Construction, and Management Service of Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, detailed the extensive plans at the Caspian Construction Week. The project will see the complete reconstruction of the village, which spans 476 hectares. The initial phase will focus on constructing 851 private houses over 275 hectares. Additionally, the development will include a green energy plant dedicated to waste utilization and wastewater treatment, aligning with environmental sustainability goals.

Abdullayev highlighted that the construction would leverage natural materials combined with advanced smart technologies. Future enhancements include the potential i
ntegration of solar heat pumps, electric car charging stations, solar collectors, and solar-powered parking lots, setting a precedent for modern living in rural settings.

The Caspian Construction Week, held at the Baku Expo Center from October 15 through 17, serves as a pivotal gathering for the construction industry in the region. The event features over 380 companies from 22 countries, showcasing a diverse range of construction innovations and fostering international collaboration.
