Tbilisi: Azerbaijan was the second-largest investor in Georgia last year, with its investments totaling $214.4 million, APA's local bureau reports. This significant financial inflow was highlighted in the National Statistics Office of Georgia's revised report on foreign direct investment for 2025.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Azerbaijan's contribution represented 11.3% of the total foreign investment in Georgia. In total, Georgia attracted $1.9 billion in foreign investment during the reporting year, marking a 19.3% increase compared to 2024 and a 12.5% rise over the preliminary figure for 2025. The United Kingdom topped the list of foreign investors with $426.6 million, while Trkiye took the third spot with $202.4 million.
In 2025, the sectors drawing the most investment in Georgia included financial and insurance activities, real estate, trade, manufacturing, transportation, information and communication, energy, water supply, as well as professional, scientific and technical activities, arts, entertainment, and recreation.
