Berlin: Azerbaijan made a significant impact at the UN Tourism Ministers' Summit held in Berlin, as Azada Huseynova, Deputy Chairperson of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, actively participated in the discussions. The summit was attended by tourism ministers from around 20 countries, facilitating a platform for international dialogue on tourism development.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, Huseynova held a meeting with Abdulaziz Akkulov, Chairman of the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, during the summit. The two officials deliberated on cooperation principles and strategies to promote the tourism sector between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The meeting also focused on reviewing the progress made under the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation, signed between the Azerbaijan Tourism Board and Uzbekistan's National PR Center in April 2025, with both sides committing to further enhance their collaboration.
During her visit, Huseynova also participated in a meeting at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Germany, which included representatives from the German tourism industry. Ambassador Nasimi Aghayev addressed the event, emphasizing Azerbaijan's tourism potential and its attractiveness to German tourists. Huseynova provided insights into upcoming major international events that Azerbaijan plans to host, further strengthening its appeal as a tourist destination.
The Azerbaijan Tourism Board took the opportunity to deliver a presentation, highlighting the country's tourism offerings and initiatives aimed at boosting its international profile.
