Azerbaijan Excluded from Monkeypox Endemic Risk Group

Baku: Azerbaijan is not included in the endemic risk group for the monkeypox virus, as stated by Zakir Guliyev, a specialist-expert from the Ministry of Health, during a live broadcast. This information was reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the current vaccination efforts against monkeypox are focused on countries that fall within the endemic risk group. Vaccines that are used to combat the smallpox virus are also effective against monkeypox. However, these vaccines are not currently utilized in Azerbaijan due to its exclusion from the endemic risk category.
