Azerbaijan Expands Digitalization Across Government and Society

BAKU – In a significant push towards comprehensive digital transformation, Azerbaijan is focusing on enhancing three primary sectors: digital government, digital society, and digital business. This initiative, outlined by Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport Samir Mammadov during a recent presentation of the “mygov” e-government platform, aims to integrate advanced digital services across all aspects of Azerbaijani life.

According to Trend News Agency, Mammadov detailed the strategies and tools being employed to accelerate this digital shift. “The focus is on creating a digital government to achieve a ‘paperless’ state model, which includes simplifying access to government services and information through full digitalization of internal processes,” he explained. This approach is part of Azerbaijan’s broader objective to enhance operational efficiencies and citizen engagement through technology.

A cornerstone of this digitalization effort is the National System Gateway ‘Digital Bridge’. Mammadov highlighted the system’s achievements, noting that it facilitates efficient data exchange between various government information resources, resulting in a fourfold increase in system throughput. “The integration of over 100 information systems has greatly expanded our network capabilities, and we have successfully conducted more than one billion transactions through this digital conduit,” he stated.

Another key development is the implementation of the “digital login” single sign-on system, which provides access to over 145 government portals. This system offers multiple authentication methods, enhancing both security and user convenience. “It not only streamlines the process of accessing services but significantly improves user satisfaction by optimizing digital interactions,” Mammadov added, underscoring the importance of secure and efficient digital services in fostering public trust and engagement.

These initiatives reflect Azerbaijan’s commitment to developing a robust digital ecosystem that supports sustainable growth and enhances the quality of life for its citizens.
