Azerbaijan Expands Industrial Zone Exports to Over 70 Countries


BAKU: Azerbaijan has significantly expanded its industrial zone exports, reaching over 70 countries and generating substantial revenue, according to a senior official. From 2015 through October 1, 2024, industrial zones in Azerbaijan sold products worth 14.5 billion manat ($8.5 billion), with exports accounting for 4.7 billion manat ($2.7 billion).

According to Trend News Agency, Elchin Kazimov, Head of the Press Service of the Economic Zones Development Agency under the Ministry of Economy of Azerbaijan, stated that industrial zones generated sales of 2.4 billion manat ($1.4 billion) in the first nine months of this year alone, with exports contributing 801.1 million manat ($471.2 million). Kazimov highlighted that the resident status has been granted to 157 business entities, with a total investment volume of 7.8 billion manat ($4.5 billion) since 2013.

Entrepreneurs have invested over 6.8 billion manat ($4 billion) in these zones, creating more than 10,500 permanent jobs. Looking forward, plans are in pl
ace to invest more than 1 billion manat ($588 million) additionally in existing projects within the industrial zones, with an aim to create over 9,400 new jobs.
