Baku: Azerbaijan's Minister of Finance, Sahil Babayev, recently engaged in discussions with a World Bank delegation led by Charles Cormier, the Regional Director for Infrastructure in Europe and Central Asia, and Ms. Roland Pryce, the Regional Director for the South Caucasus. The meeting focused on the current cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank and explored future prospects for collaboration in various developmental sectors.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the discussions highlighted ongoing and potential projects supported by the World Bank's financial resources. Key areas of focus included infrastructure, urban development, energy, and digital sectors. The meeting served as a platform for exchanging detailed views on specific projects such as the 'Expansion of the Baku International Sea Trade Port,' 'Competitive, Resilient Agriculture and Irrigation Services' (CRAIS), and 'Livable Baku.' These projects are expected to receive funding through World Bank loan facilities.
The dialogue also addressed the institutional, technical, and financial measures necessary for the successful implementation of these initiatives. Both parties considered opportunities to enhance their cooperation further, signaling a commitment to advancing Azerbaijan's development goals through strengthened partnerships with the World Bank.
