Belgrade: Azerbaijan has successfully exported approximately 300 million cubic meters of natural gas to Serbia since the beginning of 2024, as announced by Finance Minister Sahil Babayev. This development was disclosed during the 9th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia, which took place in Belgrade.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Minister Babayev highlighted that Azerbaijan’s State Oil Fund (SOFAZ) boasts an investment portfolio valued at 72.7 million US dollars in Serbia. Additionally, the collaboration between SOCAR, EPS, and Srbijagas companies in constructing a 500-megawatt combined gas-turbine power plant in Ni‚is set to elevate the energy partnership between the two nations.
The minister further stressed the importance of enhancing transport and logistics connections as a mutual priority. He noted that new initiatives, such as transport corridors and the “Green Energy Corridor” announced within the Armenia-Azerbaijan peace process, present extensive opportunities for regional cooperation.
