Azerbaijani Citizen Wanted Internationally to Be Extradited from Iran

Baku: Azerbaijani citizen Ulvi Rafig oglu, who has been on an international wanted list, is set to be extradited from Iran. This follows the requirements outlined in the “Agreement on Extradition between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran” dated February 21, 1998. The extradition request by the Prosecutor General’s Office has been fulfilled by Iran’s competent authorities, as stated by the Prosecutor General’s Office to APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, substantial suspicions were established regarding Ulvi Huseynov’s involvement in a theft crime, prompting a decision to bring him in as an accused person. As he evaded the investigation and went into hiding, he was declared an international fugitive.

The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice is currently taking necessary measures to facilitate the accused’s return to Azerbaijan.
