Vihiga county: Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its relations with Kenya through humanitarian initiatives, as the Azerbaijan International Development Agency (AIDA) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided a significant aid package valued at 20,000 US dollars to St. Ursula's Special School Chamakanga in Vihiga County, Kenya.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, a ceremony was held at the school to commemorate the presentation of AIDA's humanitarian aid. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including Wilberforce Kitiezo, Deputy Governor of Vihiga County, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kenya Sultan Hajiyev, Commissioner of Vihiga County Florence Sitawa, officials from the Kenyan Ministry of Education, and members of the public.
During the ceremony, Sultan Hajiyev highlighted the significance of inclusive education as a crucial element of sustainable development and equality. He underscored Azerbaijan's commitment to supporting Kenya and other African nations through initiatives by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AIDA, focusing on education, youth empowerment, culture, and health.
Wilberforce Kitiezo, the Deputy Governor of Vihiga County, praised AIDA's humanitarian efforts in Kenya, viewing them as a testament to Azerbaijan's dedication to sustainable development and South-South cooperation. He expressed gratitude to the Government of Azerbaijan for their continued assistance.
