Baku: The tax exemption period for media entities in Azerbaijan is being extended for another three years, APA reports. This decision is part of the amendments to the Tax Code, which have been approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the initial three-year tax exemption was set to expire on January 1, 2026. With this extension, the exemption will now continue from January 1, 2026, for an additional three years. The extension applies to the income earned by media entities, excluding audiovisual media entities, from their activities, including advertising revenues. Additionally, material assistance provided by a body determined by the relevant executive authority will also be exempt from taxation.
This move is seen as a significant policy decision aimed at supporting the media sector in Azerbaijan by alleviating the tax burden and promoting its financial sustainability.
