Baku: Azerbaijan has granted permission for approximately 500 Russian citizens, including businesspeople, to cross the border with Iran. AZERTAC reported, citing Russian media referencing a source close to the situation, that Baku is providing maximum support to Moscow in organizing the exit of Russians from Iran. This cooperation comes amidst a sharp escalation in the region.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Russian Federation is receiving assistance from Azerbaijan in evacuating its citizens from Iranian territory. The Russian embassy in Tehran has indicated that it is currently possible for Russians to leave Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan and Armenia through two border checkpoints.
