Baku: The planned electricity interconnection project involving Azerbaijan, Georgia, Trkiye, and Bulgaria could potentially extend as far as Central Asia in the future, according to Alparslan Bayraktar, Energy and Natural Resources Minister of Trkiye. In his address at Baku Energy Week, Bayraktar emphasized that such an extension would significantly enhance regional electricity trade.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the Minister highlighted the strategic importance of energy access and security. Bayraktar stated that Trkiye remains committed to implementing significant projects in the energy sector. He cited the commissioning of the Nakhchivan gas pipeline and the initiation of natural gas exports to Syria as key examples of Trkiye's proactive steps in this domain.
