Azerbaijan, Germany Expand Cooperation on Green Economy

Baku: Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Economy Anar Akhundov met with a delegation of German business representatives led by Nargis Wieck, Executive Director of the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce. The meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in various sectors related to the green economy.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the discussions covered a range of topics including renewable energy, sustainable industry, energy efficiency, industrial decarbonization, hydrogen technologies, and innovative financial mechanisms. Both parties expressed interest in leveraging these areas to foster economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The meeting also included a review of investment opportunities for German businesses in Azerbaijan. The discussions aimed to identify potential projects and initiatives that could benefit from German expertise and investment. Additionally, the two sides explored strategies to expand institutional cooperation, which could further support the development of a green economy in both countries.
