Baku: An amnesty has been applied to 14,589 people, Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev announced during a meeting of the collegium. This action follows the implementation of a decision adopted by the Milli Majlis (Parliament) on December 19, 2025, initiated by President Ilham Aliyev, in celebration of the 'Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty.'
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amnesty was applied to 429 individuals involved in criminal cases during preliminary investigations and court proceedings. Additionally, it included 14,160 convicted persons, bringing the total number of people affected by the amnesty to 14,589.
