Azerbaijan Greenlights ITU Regional Acceleration Center Agreement

Baku: Azerbaijan has officially approved a significant cooperation agreement with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to establish a Regional Acceleration Center in the country. The approval comes following a decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev, as reported by APA.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the agreement was initially signed on October 30, 2025, in Geneva and subsequently on November 14 in Baku. The Cooperation Agreement involves the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan collaborating with ITU to set up the center, which aims to accelerate regional technological development.

Per the presidential decree, following the agreement's entry into force, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport is tasked with ensuring the implementation of its provisions. Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is responsible for notifying the International Telecommunication Union that all necessary domestic procedures for the agreement's activation have been completed.
