Baku: Filming for the 'Hungarian Rhapsody Project' is underway in Azerbaijan with the support of the Hungarian Ministry of Culture and Innovation, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, APA reports. The project aims to bring together Hungarian and Azerbaijani musicians in a unique cultural collaboration.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the musical ensemble, led by internationally renowned saxophonist and composer Balint Barsony, collaborates with Azerbaijan's celebrated mugham performers, People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov and Mugham Television Competition winner Kamila Nabiyeva. The initiative seeks to revive the musical traces of Turkic-Hungarian cultural ties using a modern and distinctive musical language.
As part of this cooperation, video clips for the compositions 'Mehriban olag' and 'Sari gelin' have been filmed at several iconic locations across Azerbaijan, including the International Mugham Center, the Maiden Tower, the Heydar Aliyev Center, Sea Breeze, Beshbarmag Mountain, and the Caspian Sea coast.
The 'Hungarian Rhapsody Project' was founded in 2014 under the leadership of Balint Barsony. During their visit to Azerbaijan, the ensemble also performed a concert at the International Mugham Center, further promoting cultural exchange.
The project has previously showcased its performances in countries such as Germany, Slovakia, Romania, Trkiye, Kazakhstan, China, and others, emphasizing its role in strengthening cultural dialogue and ties between related peoples.
