Baku:Distinguished Visitors Day was part of the 'Power of Unity - 2026' joint military exercise, featuring participation from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, and T¼rkiye, as announced by the Ministry of Defense to AZERTAC.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event took place at the Azerbaijan Army's Gizilgaya Training Center in the Garabagh economic region, attracting Ministers of Defense, Chiefs of General Staff from participating and observer countries, and other high-ranking officials.
Azerbaijan's Minister of Defense, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, welcomed attendees and provided updates on the exercise's progress, objectives, and achieved tasks. T¼rkiye's Minister of National Defense, Yasar G¼ler, and Uzbekistan's Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Shukhrat Khalmukhamedov, emphasized the importance of such exercises in fostering friendship among the countries and establishing a unified force, wishing servicemen success in future endeavors.
The exercise included practical tasks based on various combat scenarios, such as deploying personnel using armored vehicles, conducting urban combat operations, and engaging in anti-terrorist missions. These activities were supported by combat helicopters, armored vehicles, and artillery systems, ensuring coordinated interaction and interoperability.
Additional tasks involved countering UAV attacks on vessels, liberating offshore platforms and hostages, and destroying a terrorist base via maritime landing. The exercises were also conducted at multiple training centers across Azerbaijan and monitored online.
Held from September 21 to October 1, the exercise aimed to enhance military cooperation, improve skills, and strengthen ties among the armed forces of participating nations. Observers praised the professionalism demonstrated by the participants.
The event concluded with the presentation of gifts and medals to distinguished servicemen. Media representatives from local and international outlets were present during the event.
