Azerbaijani Officials Participate in Middle Corridor Forum in Georgia

Baku:Georgia is hosting a regional forum organized by the World Bank Group titled 'Middle Corridor: Next Stage,' which focuses on maximizing the corridor's comprehensive economic potential.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the event brings together representatives from the government, private sector, international organizations, and other stakeholders from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Kazakhstan, and T¼rkiye.

The forum featured the presentation of the World Bank's report titled 'Integration: World-Class Trade Logistics along the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route.' This report reviews trade flows, infrastructure, and logistics efficiency along the route, while identifying key priorities for both governments and the private sector. It emphasizes coordinated investments and institutional reforms to transform the Middle Corridor into a competitive and sustainable trade route across nine participating countries by 2040.

The document underscores that the next stage of the Middle Corridor's development requires not only the construction of new infrastructure but also the operation of the entire route as a unified and efficient logistics system. The World Bank report also highlights Georgia's important role in the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor due to its strategic location between the Caspian and Black seas.
