Azerbaijan Hosts TURKPA Commission’s 13th Economic Cooperation Meeting

Baku: Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis recently hosted the 13th meeting of the Commission on Economic Cooperation, focusing on the theme "Realities and prospects of conducting joint economic activities of TURKPA member states." The session was chaired by Anas Bakkozhaev, a member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the opening ceremony featured speeches by Chairman Anas Bakkozhaev and other commission members, including Aghalar Valiyev and Fazil Mustafa from Azerbaijan, Bekmurza Ergeshov from Kyrgyzstan, Mahmut Ridvan Nazirli and Cemal Enginyurt from Turkey, Hungary's Ambassador to Azerbaijan Tam¡s Torma, TRNC's Representative to Baku Ufuk Turganer, and TURKPA Deputy Secretary General Muhammet Alper Hayali. The members discussed the agenda items and exchanged views on enhancing economic cooperation among TURKPA member countries, addressing modern challenges, and uniting the Turkic world against global and regional threats.

Discussions focused on developing the meat market in the Turkic States and expanding trade cooperation across various sectors. The meeting emphasized potential joint projects in the economic field of TURKPA Member States.

The Commission approved the report and recommendations on the main agenda item and a draft Model Law 'On Joint Venture' for submission at the 15th Plenary Session of TURKPA in the Kyrgyz Republic this October. The next meeting is planned for 2027 in Kazakhstan, focusing on 'Ensuring Economic Security in TURKPA Member States: Positive Practice as a Model to Apply' and developing a draft Model Law 'On smart city and village' as outlined in the 2023-2028 Strategic Roadmap.

The workshop aimed to facilitate the exchange of knowledge in economic cooperation among TURKPA Member States, leveraging their economic potential, diverse resources, and shared historical and cultural space to strengthen joint economic activities and deepen regional integration.
