Baku: President Ilham Aliyev has signed a decree to subsidize the fees for connecting industrial and agricultural construction facilities to the electricity grid.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the decree outlines the "Rules for Subsidizing the Fee for Connecting Industrial and Agricultural Construction Facilities to the Electricity Grid," which have been approved to facilitate this initiative.
The decree specifies that a subsidy covering 50 percent of the connection fee, as determined by the Tariff (Price) Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan, will be provided from the state budget. This financial assistance will be applicable to facilities connected to the electricity grid after the decree's enforcement.
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan is tasked with ensuring the necessary funds for these subsidies are included in the draft state budgets for 2027-2030. Additionally, they are responsible for addressing other issues that arise from the decree.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan will oversee the subsidization process for the electricity grid connection service and tackle other related matters. The decree will come into effect on January 1, 2027, and will remain valid until December 31, 2030.
