Azerbaijan Imports Nearly 33 Tons of Gold from 23 Countries in First Half of 2025

Baku: Azerbaijan imported nearly 33 tons of gold from 23 countries in the first half of the year, according to APA-Economics. The imports, totaling 32,919.1 kilograms and valued at USD 3 billion 157.6 million, were calculated based on the report of the State Statistical Committee. The average import price per kilogram was USD 95,920.2.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, during the same period, Azerbaijan’s gold production reached 1,600.7 kilograms. The country exported unprocessed gold weighing 1,960 kilograms to Switzerland, valued at USD 144 million 13 thousand, with an average export price of USD 73,475.7 per kilogram.

The report provides details on the countries from which Azerbaijan imported gold, listing Russia, the United Kingdom, Australia, the United States, and South Africa among the top contributors. Russia exported 4,752.95 kilograms of gold worth USD 439,260.21 thousand, while the United Kingdom contributed 3,778.93 kilograms valued at USD 365,446.86 thousand. Other significant exporters included Australia, the United States, and Kazakhstan.

The imported gold primarily consisted of semi-processed forms such as bars, wire, profiles, plates, sheets, strips, or ribbons with a thickness of more than 0.15 mm. These imports highlight Azerbaijan’s significant engagement in the global gold market during the first half of 2025.
