BAKU: Azerbaijan has imported a significant number of vehicles in the first eight months of 2024, with a total of 59,230 vehicles entering the country. This includes 53,600 cars, 5,465 trucks, and 165 buses, as reported by the State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan.
According to Trend News Agency, the data highlights the diverse means of transportation used for these imports. A majority, 54.7 percent, of the imported goods arrived by road. Air transport accounted for 21.1 percent, sea transport 12 percent, rail 11.6 percent, and pipelines and power lines 0.6 percent.
In terms of exports, Italy emerged as the largest market for Azerbaijani products, accounting for 36.3 percent of the export value. Other significant markets included Trkiye at 14.6 percent, Israel at 7.6 percent, and Russia at 4.2 percent. The export data further detailed contributions from additional countries, including the Czech Republic, India, and Croatia, among others. The remaining 4.6 percent of the value of products was distributed to
various other countries.
