Baku: Fines have been established for violations of requirements related to the operation of age-restricted social media platforms, APA reports. This is reflected in the new Article 388-4 added to the Code of Administrative Offenses under the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on the implementation of the law.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the law mandates penalties for failing to submit required information to the designated executive authority. The fines range from 6,000 manats to 7,000 manats for officials and from 15,000 manats to 20,000 manats for legal entities if there is a failure to submit information, a violation of submission deadlines, or submission of incomplete or distorted information.

Additionally, social media providers that do not respond within five working days to inquiries from the designated authority, or submit incomplete or distorted information, will face fines ranging from 7,000 manats to 8,000 manats for officials and from 25,000 manats to 30,000 manats for legal entities.

Violations concerning the safe use of these platforms will incur fines ranging from 8,000 manats to 9,000 manats for officials and from 35,000 manats to 40,000 manats for legal entities.

If these offenses are repeated within one year of the initial penalty decision, fines will increase to between 9,000 manats and 10,000 manats for officials and between 45,000 manats and 50,000 manats for legal entities. The law is slated to take effect in twelve months.
