Tbilisi: Last year, Azerbaijan invested $143.9 million in Georgia's economy, says the preliminary report for 2025 released by Georgia's National Statistics Office, APA's local bureau reports.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volume of investments increased by 71.5% year-on-year. In the reporting year, Azerbaijan accounted for 8.5% of foreign investments in Georgia. With this figure, Azerbaijan ranked fifth among the main investor countries in Georgia. The top four included the United Kingdom with $334.2 million, Trkiye with $180.8 million, Malta with $173.7 million, and the United States with $158.1 million.
Last year, the total volume of foreign direct investment in Georgia amounted to $1.68 billion, which is 7.6% higher year-on-year. The sectors that received the most investment included finance and insurance, real estate, transportation, manufacturing, information and communications, energy, construction, water supply and waste management, trade, and entertainment and recreation.
