Baku: Incentives have been introduced for foreign producers filming in Azerbaijan, APA reports. This development comes as part of amendments to the Law on Cinematography approved by President Ilham Aliyev.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the amendments to the law include the implementation of incentive measures to attract foreign producers to film production within Azerbaijan. As part of these incentives, a portion of the expenses incurred by foreign producers during the filmmaking process will be reimbursed. This initiative is aimed at making Azerbaijan a more attractive location for international film projects.
The reimbursement of expenses for foreign and co-produced films will adhere to specific rules and conditions set by a designated institution, as determined by the relevant executive authority. The law identifies a foreign producer as a producer who is a foreign citizen, a stateless person, or a foreign legal entity.
