Azerbaijan Joins European Commission for Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease

Baku: The Republic of Azerbaijan has officially joined the European Commission for the Control of Foot-and-Mouth Disease. This move is part of the framework established by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, following the adoption of the Commission’s Constitution in Rome on December 11, 1953.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the accession was formalized after President Ilham Aliyev signed a Decree to this effect. This decision aligns Azerbaijan with other member states in the effort to control and prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, a critical issue for livestock health and agricultural economies.
