Hanoi: The Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, visited the headquarters of the Vietnam People’s Navy, marking a significant diplomatic engagement between the two nations. The visit, which took place on September 3, was reported by APA citing the Ministry of Defense.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Colonel General Hasanov commenced his visit by paying respects at the Monument to National Heroes and Martyrs and the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in Hanoi, where wreaths were laid in honor of Vietnam’s historical figures.
Following this, the Minister of Defense engaged in a meeting with Vice Admiral Tran Thanh Nghiem, the Commander of the Vietnam People’s Navy. The discussions primarily focused on exploring the future of naval cooperation between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, alongside other mutual interests.
The visit concluded with Colonel General Hasanov touring a Navy brigade and Ha Long Bay, where he familiarized himself with the naval facilities and operations.
