Baku: Azerbaijan has officially opened a newly reconstructed school building in Baku’s Khazar district, as part of an initiative by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The new facility, secondary school No. 324, marks another milestone in the Foundation’s efforts to enhance educational infrastructure across the country.

According to Trend News Agency, the original school building, constructed in 2007, had become obsolete and was no longer functional for current educational needs. The school previously operated on a tri-shift model due to a large number of students and lacked specialized facilities for practical and laboratory work.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation launched a comprehensive reconstruction project for the school in September 2024. The initiative expanded the number of classrooms and added facilities such as physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories, computer science and technology rooms, a library, a canteen, a sports field, and an assembly hall. Enhancements were also made to the school’s courtyard to improve site development.

The newly refurbished educational institution has begun its operations with faculty and students for the new academic year. This project is part of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s broader “New School for a Renewing Azerbaijan” initiative, through which it has renovated over 500 educational institutions in Azerbaijan since 2005. The Foundation aims to enhance educational facilities and optimize the educational ecosystem nationwide, encompassing various types of educational institutions.
