Baku: The online meeting of the friendship groups of the parliaments of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan took place, as reported by the press and public relations department of the Azerbaijani parliament to Trend. Eldar Ibrahimov, chairman of the Disciplinary Commission of the Azerbaijani parliament and head of the parliamentary working group on interparliamentary relations with Uzbekistan, addressed the meeting.

According to Trend News Agency, the meeting marked the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. Eldar Ibrahimov highlighted the fraternal relations and active political dialogue between the countries’ presidents, emphasizing the upward development of cooperation in various areas. He noted the continuation of high-level contacts at the parliamentary level and shared his views on the cooperation established between the parliaments and their joint activities in international organizations.

During the event, Senator Odiljon Mamatkariyev and Deputy Alisher Kodirov, co-chairs of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan’s interparliamentary relations friendship group with Azerbaijan, spoke about the expanding relations between the two nations. They explained how these relations are rooted in strong friendship and brotherhood, driven by the political will of their heads of state, and discussed the potential contributions of the parliaments to further this cooperation.

Members of the interparliamentary relations groups, including Musa Guliyev, Gunay Efendiyeva, Elman Nasirov, and Munojat Yolchuyeva, also shared their thoughts on the significance of joint activities by the friendship groups in legislative bodies. They discussed the development of cooperation and the exchange of experience between parliamentary structures.

The meeting concluded with an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest, further cementing the collaborative spirit between the parliamentary bodies of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
