Baku: Demining activities in the territory of Shusha city will be regulated by new rules, APA reports. This is reflected in the proposed amendment to the law "On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan - Shusha city", which was put to discussion at today's session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft specifies that demining activities in areas of historical and archaeological importance will be carried out with the participation of a representative of a body (organization) determined by the relevant executive authority. Prior to any demining work, the area will undergo a review by this body, and a preliminary study of any monuments will be conducted.

In instances where a monument is discovered during demining activities in the territory of Shusha city, the work must be halted immediately. The responsible body (organization) must then be informed, and a decision regarding the continuation of work will be made by the relevant executive authority.

The draft law was put to a vote and adopted in one reading.
