Baku: A new Regulation on Residency is being prepared, and amendments will be made, said the Chairman of the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament), Ahliman Amiraslanov, at today’s meeting of the committee.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the committee chairman highlighted that there are currently no subspecialties in residency in Azerbaijan. In contrast, existing laws in Turkey and other countries allow individuals to enter residency in a specific field such as surgery and then continue their education in a subspecialty for an additional 1-3 years. The proposed changes in Azerbaijan aim to introduce subspecialties like oncological radiology, thoracic oncology, and neuro-oncology. The Ministry of Health is actively working on these developments, and the issue of salaries will also be addressed in the new Regulation.
