Baku: Azerbaijan has announced plans to renovate 217 houses in the Girmizi Bazar settlement of the Khojavend district by the end of this year. A media tour organized by APA’s Karabakh bureau provided journalists with insights into the developments taking place in this strategically significant area.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, Girmizi Bazar came under Azerbaijan’s control following an anti-terror operation conducted by Azerbaijan’s Armed Forces in 2023. Since then, various infrastructural improvements have been undertaken, including the restoration of electricity and gas lines and the installation of an artesian well. Additionally, metering processes have begun, two transformers have been installed, three water reservoirs have been repaired, and a natural gas pipeline exceeding 11 kilometers in length has been laid. Presently, public and domestic facilities and a production workshop are operational in the settlement.

Leyla Sarabi, the press secretary of the Restoration, Construction, and Management Service for the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, informed journalists that the Girmizi Bazar settlement hosts 300 individual houses. Of these, 71 are uninhabitable while 229 are partially habitable. Ten houses are currently ready for use, and a total of 217 houses are slated for restoration by the end of 2025, with an additional 12 houses to be renovated in 2026.

As of now, 10 families, comprising 39 individuals, have returned to reside in the settlement. President Ilham Aliyev visited the Girmizi Bazar settlement on September 14, marking a step forward in the region’s ongoing development efforts.
