Baku: In a message addressed to President Mahmoud Abbas of the State of Palestine, the President of Azerbaijan extended heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of Palestine’s national holiday. On behalf of both himself and the people of Azerbaijan, he expressed warm regards to President Abbas and the Palestinian nation.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the President highlighted the strong and fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Palestine. He reiterated Azerbaijan’s consistent support for the establishment of an independent State of Palestine with East Jerusalem as its capital, emphasizing the resolution of the Palestinian issue in line with the two-state principle and relevant UN resolutions. He expressed optimism that the Middle East Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh will foster peace, stability, and security in the region.

The President also reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to providing humanitarian assistance to Palestine. He conveyed his belief that the friendly relations and cooperation between the two nations, grounded in long-standing traditions, will continue to thrive. The message concluded with wishes for health, happiness, and success to President Abbas and peace to the Palestinian people.
