Shymkent: The Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), in collaboration with eight tourism industry partners such as Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), conducted a series of roadshows to promote Azerbaijan as a year-round travel destination. These events were held from August 21 to 27 in Shymkent, Almaty, Astana, and Tashkent.
According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the roadshows brought together over 400 representatives from leading travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hotels, media outlets, and other tourism industry stakeholders in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. The events featured presentations highlighting Azerbaijan's year-round tourism opportunities, recent developments in the tourism sector, and a variety of tourism products.
Participants learned about Azerbaijan's wide range of tourism offerings, which include beach tourism along the Caspian coast, ski resorts, wellness tourism, gastronomy, outdoor and adventure experiences, cultural tourism, and the country's modern tourism infrastructure.
The B2B meetings during the events provided a platform for tourism industry representatives from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan to engage with Azerbaijani partners, discuss cooperation opportunities, and explore potential joint projects. Additionally, the roadshows showcased Azerbaijan's rich culture, national cuisine, and traditional dances.
Visitor statistics from January to July 2026 indicated an increase in tourists from these regions.
