Baku: Euronews TV channel has published a report highlighting the growing importance of the Middle Corridor, which links Asia and Europe, and Azerbaijan's strategic role along the route.

According to Azerbaijan State News Agency, the article titled 'The Middle Corridor's growing role in global trade' emphasizes the transformation of the Middle Corridor from a regional route into an intercontinental trade link. The report outlines how Azerbaijan, positioned centrally in this network, is instrumental in facilitating the expansion of cargo volumes, implementing digital logistics, and enhancing port capacity.

The Middle Corridor is described as a vital trade route that connects Asia and Europe through Central Asia, the Caspian Sea, and the South Caucasus, with Azerbaijan playing a pivotal role by integrating railways, ports, and other transport infrastructures. Emil Mammadov, Advisor to the Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways, explained on Business Horizons that the corridor is evolving into a significant trade conduit due to rising international demand. Mammadov also mentioned the adoption of digital solutions for tracking cargo and optimizing coordination. Highlighting the corridor's increasing significance, the report noted a 40% rise in cargo handling volumes at the Port of Baku in 2025.
