Azerbaijan Railways Nears Completion of Strategic Business Plan


BAKU: Azerbaijan Railways OJSC (ADY) is in the final stages of completing its business plan as part of a broader corporate development strategy aimed at modernizing the country’s rail infrastructure. This was revealed by Orkhan Ahmadzade, Acting Head of the Research and Development Center under ADY, during an information event in Baku focused on opportunities for German companies in Azerbaijan’s railroad technology sector.

According to Trend News Agency, Ahmadzade stated that 36 initiatives are currently being developed as part of this strategic plan. The business plan, which covers the years 2025 to 2027, is expected to be approved by the end of this year. It aims to articulate the company’s vision for the future, detailing anticipated changes and innovations across various operational domains. These include enhancements in infrastructure, line maintenance, and the integration of alternative energy sources.

The information event in Baku was organized as a segment of a business trip for a German entrepreneu
rial delegation, facilitated by the German-Azerbaijani Chamber of Commerce (AHK Azerbaijan). The delegation’s visit, scheduled for October 21-25, 2024, underscores the potential for international partnerships in Azerbaijan’s rail sector.
