Baku: In the first half of this year, Azerbaijan received 199 block trains from China by railway, as reported by Rovshan Rustamov, chairman of ‘Azerbaijan Railways’ JSC, during a meeting with Sun Syude, president of the China Railways State Corporation.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the volume of goods transported by railway between Azerbaijan and China increased by 47% in 2024, reaching 612,000 tons. Rustamov highlighted the effective cooperation between the two nations as a key factor in this growth.
It was also noted that in 2024, 287 block trains were received from China. In the first six months of this year alone, the figure has already reached 199 block trains. By the end of the year, Azerbaijan expects to receive more than 400 block trains from China.
