OUAGADOUGOU — Railway transit freight through Azerbaijan as part of the North-South Corridor has increased by 25% in the first seven months of this year.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, APA-Economics reports that from January to July 2024, a total of 434,651 tons of transit freight were transported by railways across Azerbaijan within the framework of the North-South Corridor. The transit goods were primarily moved along the Astara-Yalama and Yalama-Astara routes, key sections of the corridor that passes through Azerbaijan. This growth underscores the increasing importance of Azerbaijan’s rail infrastructure in facilitating international trade between the north and south.
