Baku: In the period from January to October 2025, Azerbaijan welcomed 2 million 171.6 thousand foreign citizens and stateless persons from 183 countries. This figure represents a 1.7 percent decline compared to the same timeframe in the previous year, as revealed by the State Statistical Committee to APA-Economics.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the largest group of visitors came from the Russian Federation, accounting for 24.4 percent of the total arrivals. Other significant contributors included Trkiye with 17.4 percent, Iran at 8.0 percent, and India making up 6.6 percent. Saudi Arabia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan also featured prominently among the visitor statistics. Notably, 66.4 percent of the visitors were men, while women made up 33.6 percent.

The report highlighted changes in visitor demographics compared to the previous year. Arrivals from Israel saw a significant increase, rising by 2.1 times, while Tajikistan and Japan also saw substantial increases in visitors, at 1.8 and 1.6 times, respectively. There were also notable increases from China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and several other countries. Conversely, arrivals from the Gulf countries and CIS countries experienced a decrease, with a 3.5 percent and 8.2 percent drop, respectively.

In terms of transportation, the majority of foreign visitors, 76.3 percent, traveled to Azerbaijan by air. Railway and automobile transport accounted for 22.4 percent of the arrivals, while sea transport was used by a smaller portion, at 1.3 percent.
