Baku: As of October 1, 2025, preliminary data indicates that Azerbaijan’s economically active population reached 5,375.8 thousand individuals, with 5,096.5 thousand of them employed.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee reported that as of September 1 of the current year, the number of wage-employed workers stood at 1,764.9 thousand. Of these, 855.3 thousand were employed in the public sector, while 909.6 thousand were in the non-public sector. In the oil and gas sector, employment figures were reported at 31.2 thousand, contrasting with the non-oil and gas sector’s 1,733.7 thousand employed individuals.
