Baku:Azerbaijan is striving to establish peace not only with the Armenian government but also with the Armenian people, as stated by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, during his speech at the CAMCA 2026 Regional Forum.
According to Azeri-Press news agency, Hajiyev emphasized the current de facto peace and security in the South Caucasus region, highlighting the importance of maintaining this stability to shield the area from the adverse effects of broader regional dynamics.
Hajiyev pointed out that following the resolution of the protracted conflict with Armenia, Azerbaijan prioritizes achieving and solidifying peace practically. He noted that while Azerbaijan claims victory in the war, winning the peace is a more vital and challenging task, one that demands strategic thinking, patience, and the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
