Baku: Azerbaijan’s oil products manufacturing sector recorded a total production value of 2,036.1 million manat in the first five months of this year, marking a 5.2% decrease compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the State Statistical Committee reported that production reductions were observed across several petroleum products. Kerosene production decreased by 0.3%, gas oil (diesel fuel) by 4.3%, petroleum bitumen by 7.1%, motor gasoline by 10.7%, petroleum coke by 12%, and lubricating oils by 45.8%. Despite these declines, there were significant increases in the production of fuel oil, which rose by 56.6 times, and liquefied gas, which increased by 12.2%.

The report detailed that from January to May 2025, various petroleum products were manufactured in specific quantities. Motor gasoline production reached 549.3 thousand tons, which is 89.3% of the previous year’s output for the same period. Kerosene production stood at 266.8 thousand tons, maintaining 99.7% of last year’s level. Diesel fuel production amounted to 938 thousand tons, showing a slight decline to 95.7% compared to the previous year.

Fuel oil production saw a dramatic increase, with 56.6 thousand tons produced, marking a 56.6 times rise from last year’s output. Liquefied gases production rose to 92.6 thousand tons, reaching 112.2% of last year’s production. Meanwhile, production of petroleum coke and petroleum bitumen was recorded at 302.2 thousand tons, with petroleum bitumen alone making up 87.6 thousand tons, which is 92.9% of last year’s production, and petroleum coke at 84.7 thousand tons, 88% of the previous year’s level.
