Baku: Azerbaijan saw a decrease in smartphone imports during the first nine months of 2025, with the number of units imported dropping by 8.2% compared to the same period last year.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the country imported 951,461 smartphones from January to September 2025, down from 1,036,868 units in 2024. Despite this decline in quantity, the total value of these imports increased by 3.7%, reaching 299 million 861 thousand US dollars, compared to 289 million 239.7 thousand dollars in the previous year.

The average import price of smartphones rose during this period, with each device costing 536 manats on average, up from 474 manats last year. The majority of these smartphones were imported from China, which accounted for 755,807 units, followed by Vietnam with 183,880 units. Smaller quantities were imported from India, Indonesia, and Korea, with import prices varying from 204 to 976 manats depending on the country of origin.

The report also highlighted that Azerbaijan exported 1,116 smartphones valued at 196.6 thousand US dollars. These exports were primarily directed to Georgia and the Czech Republic, with the average export price of smartphones being 299 manats.
