Azerbaijan Sees Decline in Smartphone Imports for Early 2025

Baku: During January-May 2025, Azerbaijan imported 458,642 smartphones with a total value of USD 145,672,000.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, this represents a decrease compared to the same period last year, with 67,324 fewer units and a reduction of USD 2,556,900 in value. In the first five months of 2024, the country imported 525,966 smartphones worth USD 148,228,900.

The average import price of a smartphone in the current reporting period was AZN 540, up from AZN 479 in the previous year. Most smartphones were sourced from China (368,701 units), followed by Vietnam (83,432 units), India (6,275 units), and Korea (230 units). The import prices were AZN 511 from China, AZN 643 from Vietnam, AZN 888 from India, and AZN 204 from Korea.

During the same period, Azerbaijan exported 662 smartphones valued at USD 133,000. These exports were primarily directed to Georgia (491 units) and the Czech Republic (171 units), with an average export price of AZN 341.
