Azerbaijan Seizes 68 kg of Drugs in Major Operation

Baku:Operations to halt the illegal circulation of narcotic drugs have led to the seizure of 68 kilograms of narcotics by Azerbaijan's Interior Ministry.

According to Azeri-Press news agency, the Main Drug Control Department carried out these operations in the capital and the city of Ganja, resulting in the detention of an Iranian citizen, S. Esmaeilnaseb, along with seven other individuals€š¬‚¬E. Mammadov, R. Gurbanov, N. Zeynalova, I. Mayilov, K. Rustamov, U. Aliyev, and S. Suleymanov.

Authorities discovered a total of 68 kilograms of narcotic drugs and 1,600 drug-containing pills during the operations. Investigations revealed that the suspects were involved in organizing the illegal distribution of drugs smuggled into Azerbaijan under the direction of international drug traffickers.

Criminal cases have been initiated, and the detained individuals have been remanded in custody by court order.
