Baku: Azerbaijan has announced the selection of 171 electric buses as part of the transportation plan for the upcoming World Urban Forum 13 (WUF13). The head of the transport department of the WUF13 Azerbaijan Operating Company, Vugar Aslanov, revealed these details during a briefing on the transport management plan. The event will also see transportation services organized along the Icherisheher-Shikh-'Sea Breeze' line and a 24-hour service from the airport.
According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the plan includes 155 main electric buses and 16 reserve buses for city transportation. Additionally, 36 Neoplan-type buses will facilitate regular routes from the airport to transport interchange centers, with 26 serving as main and 10 as reserve buses. Taxi services will feature 150 vehicles from 'Baku Taxi' and 330 individual taxis. The integration of zero-emission electric buses aligns with the green transport initiative.
Aslanov also stated that the transport arrangements for the Baku Olympic Stadium have been completed. The stadium will act as a major transport hub, linking the airport, hotels, and other centers. Efforts will focus on effective crowd management and ensuring seamless transportation for all attendees. Internally, the venue will incorporate transport infrastructure including golf carts to facilitate movement.
