Azerbaijan Sends Humanitarian Aid to Iran Ahead of Novruz Holiday

Baku: Another humanitarian aid shipment was dispatched from Azerbaijan to Iran on March 18, 2026, to address the immediate needs of the Iranian population. This initiative followed a telephone conversation on March 8, 2026, between Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the aid shipment to Iran comprises 82 tons of essential supplies. The consignment includes 76 tons of food products, 4 tons of medicines, and 2 tons of medical supplies. The delivery is being facilitated by five cargo trucks (TIRs).

The timing of this aid coincides with the Novruz holiday, prompting the inclusion of Novruz gifts and festive products in the shipment. This gesture underscores the spirit of generosity and friendship between the two nations, as they celebrate a shared cultural tradition.
