Baku: Fines are being established for violations of legal requirements related to the provision of services and execution of work by non-governmental organizations, APA reports. This development is part of the proposed amendment to the Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan on administrative offenses, which was brought up for discussion at a meeting of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament).

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the newly proposed Article 432-1 of the Code stipulates that if a non-governmental organization fails to submit contracts for services or work funded by foreign financial sources to the relevant body within the legislated timeframe, officials will face fines ranging from 1,500 to 2,500 manats, while legal entities will be fined between 5,000 to 7,000 manats.

In cases where services are provided or work is performed without a registered contract funded by foreign sources, or if financial resources and material assets are accepted, officials will be fined from 2,500 to 5,000 manats, and legal entities from 8,000 to 15,000 manats.

For conducting banking operations or transactions based on unregistered contracts for services or work funded by foreign financial sources, non-governmental organizations, banks, or other payment service providers will face fines. Officials will be fined from 2,500 to 5,000 manats, and legal entities from 5,000 to 8,000 manats.

After discussions, the draft law was put to a vote and adopted in the third reading.
