Azerbaijan Sets Guidelines for Foreign Entities to Utilize Aquatic Bioresources

Baku: Foreign individuals and legal entities have been granted the ability to use fish and other aquatic bioresources in the water bodies of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as reported by APA. This development comes with the introduction of a new draft Law "On Fisheries," which was discussed at the recent plenary session of the Milli Majlis.

According to Azeri-Press News Agency, the draft law establishes that foreign individuals and legal entities can access these resources in accordance with the procedures outlined in the normative legal acts of Azerbaijan, international treaties to which Azerbaijan is a party, and other international law norms. The designated authority, appointed by the relevant executive body, will determine the rights and procedures for this utilization.

The draft law was put to a vote and successfully adopted in the first reading, marking a significant step forward in the regulation of aquatic resource usage by foreign entities within Azerbaijan.
